Writing Projects
The purpose of this project was to create a PR campaign centered around a social issue. I had to take a company, a social issue, and create a campaign that would sell products and simultaneously shed light on the situation at hand. I picked Urban Outfitters and the underrepresentation of disabled people in fashion and mainstream media.
For this project, I had to create a "big idea" using two or more of the PR firm's clients. The idea had to be realistic and be one that would draw publicity to the clients involved. My big idea was to combine the Times Square Alliance, Witkoff group, Jefferson's Bourbon, and New York Fashion Week.
This project was a hypothetical PR campaign for a real client of the University of Florida. She was releasing a keto book and my group's job was to develop a campaign that would lead her to the New York Times Bestseller list.
This project was a hypothetical PR campaign for a music streaming service of our choice. I picked Spotify and created a campaign that would attract more paid memberships and enhance relationships between artists and listeners.
This piece is a news article I wrote on a local International Women's Day celebration in Gainesville.
This is a press release I wrote for Keala Kennelly, the best female big-wave surfer on earth, and the launch of her surf organization Irons.
This piece is a news article I wrote on an annual festival that comes to Gainesville commemorating and reenacting the Battle of Olustee during the Civil War.
